    FOUNDERS

The Academy of Collaborative Education (ACE) is the product of a vision by co-founders Maddie Cannon and Joellen Freeman. Maddie was determined to provide her son, Ace, diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, with an innovative education that would meet and exceed his unique learning needs. Joellen envisioned a tuition-free charter school where students with autism receive academic and best practice therapeutic interventions such as ABA, speech and occupational therapies, that would be embedded into the classroom. This dynamic duo extensively researched thriving specialty charter schools across the United States that provide embedded services into the classroom who have demonstrated educational success for students. ACE will be Northeast Louisiana’s first specialty charter school tailored to the unique learning needs for students on the autism spectrum!
